Boomsday weekend is coming up fast – come early, eat at Trio and walk down to the events!

Sunday, September 5th is the 23rd anniversary of the Boomsday Festival along Neyland Drive at Volunteer Landing. As all K-town residents know, the day will be filled with tons of fun –contests, a Family Fun Zone featuring inflatables, Red Bull TNT MX Demos and of course, the nation’s largest Labor Day weekend fireworks show!

Since the events kick off at 1 p.m., treat yourself to a fresh and hearty lunch with us early to give you the energy needed to walk around to all the great events.

Here’s the Boomsday Schedule:

Family Fun Zone – Featuring inflatables, games and much more. Opens at 1 p.m.

Red Bull / TNT Freestyle Motocross will be putting on a spectacular FMX demos at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm and 8pm. 9-time X Games Medalist Tommy Clowers, Myles Richmond and Destin Cantrell will thrill the crowd by jumping their motorcycles in the air. These riders will be doing tricks such as “Cliffhangers,” “Hart Attacks” and “Back Flips.”

Live Entertainment – The Daystar Production Stage will be filled with live music entertainment from up-and-coming singing sensation 16-year old Erin Leigh and other great performers such as Emily Eaton, Tennion Reed and the Daystar Band.

Star 102.1 will hold “Guitar Hero” contests all day and tout the latest news in fitness from the RUSH Fitness Centers.

At HOT 104.5 you can play Wii with the Air Force and check out “Show Text.”

Join ATC Roofs at Q93 for the Frozen T-Shirt Contest played at the top of every hour from 2pm – 7pm.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, hats, lawn chairs, and blankets! See you there, Trio fans!

We have a new draft beer in our family! Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company presents the first beer in the world made with roasted pecans.

The beer is very lightly hopped to allow the malty, caramel, and nutty flavors shine through. With a dark mahogany color, Southern Pecan won a Bronze Medal in the 2006 World Beer Cup in the Specialty Beer category.

Because of a high oil content, many attempts at nut-beers have resulted in failure. The folks at Lazy Magnolia would not give up until they achieved success with this succulent new flavor.

With an alcohol level of 4.5%, the ideal serving temperature of Southern Pecan is 43 degrees.

Here at Trio, we don’t mistreat our chicken!

Some places lead you to believe you’re getting fresh chicken, but you’re getting a microwaved, rubbery piece of “frankenfood” as far as we’re concerned. If you peek in our kitchen, you won’t see us thawing out that frozen stuff in a bag, that’s for sure! It’s always worth the extra time to prepare great quality food for our customers.

The way we treat our chicken

Trio Cafe’s chicken comes in fresh and NEVER frozen. It is then marinated and oven roasted, and we either hand pull it for our Chicken Salad and our Pot Pie, or thinly slice it for our Cordon Bleu Sandwich.
